CBD FAQs

Hemp is a natural source of CBD. Both hemp and marijuana are from the same genus and species of plant, cannabis sativa. In order to qualify as hemp, the plant must contain less than .3% of THC, which is the psychoactive ingredient found in cannabis. This characteristic of having low THC is the single difference that best distinguishes industrial hemp from marijuana, and what makes it legal across the United States under section 7606 of the 2014 Farm Bill. Our hemp extract consists of less than 0.3% THC, while having a noteworthy concentration of CBD. This makes it excellent for medicinal use, without the psychotropic effects. In addition, our carrier oil, hempseed oil, is comprised of a nutritious balance of linoleic acid, omega 3 and omega 6 fatty acids. These compounds are essential to helping the body achieve optimal functioning.

Due to federal regulations, we cannot make claims about whether or not our CBD products can help with specific conditions. We do, however, urge our customers considering the use of CBD to explore the Learn section of our website, which offers valuable information on the nature of CBD, Cannabinoids, and the Endocannabinoid System, along with links to multiple studies published by the National Institute of Health (NIH). There is also a broad range of beneficial information available online that speaks to CBD oil and its many potential benefits.

Our CBD oil is lab-tested as soon as it is extracted and then again by a third party lab to ensure an accurate amount of CBD. We also test for any pesticides, insecticides and other contaminants. Each batch comes with a Certificate of Analysis, which can be found under the Standards - Lab Tests link at the top of our home page. Each bottle also has the amount of CBD per drop, per dropper and per bottle listed clearly on the label so you know how much CBD you are getting in each dose.

We use a whole plant extract that has a strong cannabinoid profile. Studies suggest that whole plant extracts, which contain a large percentage of CBD in addition to traces of the other cannabinoids found in the cannabis plant, proved far more effective than CBD-only formulas in providing relief to a broad range of conditions. CBD (Cannabidiol), is one of over 85 compounds called cannabinoids. Cannabinoids help regulate homeostasis at every level of life, from sub-cellular levels to the organism itself. While the body produces some cannabinoids on its own - which are called endocannabinoids - CBD influences the body to use its own endocannabinoids more effectively.

Cannabinoids are the primary chemical compounds produced by the cannabis and hemp plant. Cannabinoids influence the receptors in the the body's Endocannabinoid System (ESC), and in doing so support the body, brain, central nervous and immune systems. Of the non-psychoactive cannabinoids, Cannabidiol (CBD) is the most widely known. CBG, which stands for cannabigerol, is another non-psychoactive compound found within the cannabis sativa plant.

Our full-spectrum CBD oil contains high concentrations of CBD, in addition to other beneficial cannabinoids such as CBC, CBG, CBDA, and CBDV. These beneficial cannabinoids are not psychoactive and are being studied scientifically for a wide variety of health benefits. Cannabinoids work synergistically together to create what is known as the "entourage effect".

Our CBD oil has only two ingredients: 100% natural hemp seed oil and a proprietary, full or broad spectrum CBD extract from the hemp plant. There are no other additives, preservatives, emulsifiers, or flavorings.

All Revida Labs products have a " Best By" date stamped on the side or bottom of the bottle or package. The shelf life of each product varies by product type, typically extending 24 months. Because there is a natural degradation of cannabinoids that occurs within all products after 12 months, our products are formulated with a 5% overage of cannabinoids to account for this degradation. To extend the life of cannabinoid products beyond 12 months, refrigeration is recommended.
